COMING SOON: Voting!

Over the past two months, Borough Assembly Committees deliberated on ideas generated by residents from across the city and narrowed down the top ideas that will be placed on the ballot for a borough-wide vote.

In the coming months, all New Yorkers, ages 11 or up, regardless of immigration status, will be able to vote to fund projects in their borough and/or neighborhood!

You will be able to vote on a ballot for the borough you identify you live in. On your ballot, you can vote for your favorite projects; however, only a certain amount of projects will be funded. Residents will be able to vote online or using paper ballots by visiting ballot boxes across the city.

Meet the 2023 Artist Collective

In February of 2023, we launched an Open Call in partnership with the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, seeking five artists to help us build the creative identity for The People's Money: Citywide Participatory Budgeting Get Out the Vote campaign. We received over 100 applications from artists across the five boroughs. We are incredibly excited to announce the inaugural 2023 class of The People's Money Artist Collective.

At the CEC, we believe that storytelling is a key component in our work of sharing our lived experiences, which is why The People's Money Artists Collective is a crucial element that will help us connect with New Yorkers through a more robust, creative lens. Learn more about the artists here.

COMMUNITY BOARD TRAININGS

Community Boards are the first level of local government and consist of community volunteers appointed by Borough Presidents. Their charge is to weigh in on matters that affect their community regarding land use, transportation issues, small businesses, youth and education, and environmental issues, among many others.

The CEC works with all 59 Boards across the city to provide assistance and training to community board members, such as workshops on uniform meeting procedures, language access best practices, conflict resolution, and community outreach. The CEC currently offers the following trainings:
