Goodwill Industries of Greater New York and Northern New Jersey (Goodwill NY/NJ) empowers individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment to gain independence through the power of work. Goodwill NY/NJ operates 37 thrift stores in the region, with 12 of them in New York City. Goodwill NY/NJ thrift stores offer employment and training to people with disabilities and other barriers to work, and generate revenue to support a vast array of community services, including after-school and summer programs for children and youth. Purchases and donations also help build a healthier planet by promoting the reuse and re-purposing of resources, keeping usable items out of landfills, and preventing the need for new products and packaging to be created. Goodwill NY/NJ is committed to reinventing the thrift store experience.

donateNYC Partner Fact: In 2017, Goodwill NY/NJ helped reuse, reuse, and recycle over 14 million pounds of items in NYC that might have otherwise been discarded.
