donateNYC encourages New Yorkers to support these nonprofit partners in their important reuse activities and social missions:
Habitat for Humanity New York City transforms lives by building quality homes with families in need and by uniting all New Yorkers around the cause of affordable housing.
The NYC ReStore is a retail store that accepts donations of overstocked, second-hand, used, discontinued, and salvageable building materials donated by manufacturers, stores, contractors, and individuals. Items can include new and gently used furniture, building materials, appliances, cabinetry, sinks, countertops, household and décor items. The ReStore then sells those items to the public at a reduced cost, typically 50-80% percent off the original retail value. Donated items qualify for a tax deduction under Habitat NYC’s 501(c)(3) status.
