City & State: Legacy at DYCD

The Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. With a new administration on the horizon, our Commissioner, Bill Chong, sat down with City and State New York to discuss the last eight years at DYCD.

Happy Thanksgiving

There's always something to be thankful for on Thanksgiving. Here at DYCD, we are grateful for you, our program participants, the CBOs, and communities that have made us part of your daily routine. As we continue to celebrate 25 years of DYCD, we want to wish you and your family a happy and healthy Thanksgiving.
 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is back in a big way! After a smaller 2020 parade that was more of a made-for-TV event, the traditional parade is back in action for 2021. In addition to the larger-than-life balloons and classic floats, this year, you can expect performances from Carrie Underwood, Kelly Rowland, Kristin Chenoweth, Andy Grammer, the cast of "Girls5eva" and more.
DYCD Barbershop Talks

Join us next Tuesday, November 30, for #DYCDBarbershopTalks Young Men & Housing. Our DYCD hosts Scott Leach, Mike Bobbitt, and Jerry Hyppolite, will be joined by members of DYCD's Runway Homeless Youth services to discuss the wide range of programs we offer for NYC youth who may need a helping hand. Join us live on DYCD's official YouTube page!

Food Pantries Near You

On average, 1.4 million NYC residents rely on emergency food programs each year. This holiday season, stock your shelves with food staples by stopping by one of DYCD's food pantries across the five boroughs.
