DEP Remembers Eugene Mcmahon, Bureau Of Water Supply Manager, Killed By Unknown Assailant One Year Ago

Reward for Information Remains at $12,000

DEP Commissioner Christopher O. Ward asked agency employees and others who knew or worked with Eugene McMahon to reflect on his untimely death from a gunshot wound just one year ago.

Commissioner Ward said, “There are no words to describe the loss to Mr. McMahon’s family - his wife and three children. We, his co-workers, want them to know that Eugene is not forgotten, and we all look forward to finding the person who committed this crime."

Mr. McMahon was the victim of an unknown assailant while on the job in Queens on the night of August 9, 2002. The 114th Detective Squad has been actively investigating this crime as a robbery/homicide and the DEP has also assigned a Detective to the investigation.

A $12,000 reward is still in effect for information leading to the identification and arrest of the person responsible for this crime. Anyone with information should call the 114th Precinct Detective Squad at (718) 626-9302 or 1 (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
