The Food Protection Course for Mobile Vendors trains individuals in food protection practices to ensure the safety of the food served in New York City’s mobile food carts and trucks. The NYC Health code requires that all applicants for a Mobile Food Vendor license be certified in food protection. Completion of this course and passing of the final exam satisfies that requirement.
Frequency and Duration: This is an eight-hour course conducted over two days, four hours each day. Two classes are held most weeks, one on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and another on Thursdays and Fridays.
Participants who complete the course and are successful at the final examination are issued their licenses.
How to Register:
Registration for this course is limited to individuals who are applying for a Mobile Food Vendor License. When you register for this course you will also apply for a license. All applications must be submitted in person at the Citywide Licensing Center. You may pay with credit and debit cards, certified checks, or money orders (made payable to: NYC DOHMH). Before you apply for this course and a mobile food vending license, you must obtain a NY State Certificate of Authority to Collect Sales Tax.
