The City of New York's Department of Transportation issued a traffic alert for this week providing the locations of road construction and events where lane and street closings will affect the flow of traffic. Lane closings may also occur due to circumstances beyond our control. Major road, lane and street closings for the coming week are as follows:
East River Bridge Crossings
Ed Koch/Queensboro Bridge
Single-lane Manhattan-bound north lower roadway will be closed Saturday from 12:01 am to 7 am, Monday to Tuesday from 10 pm to 5 am next morning, and Thursday to Friday from 12:01 am to 5 am. Single-lane Queens-bound south lower roadway will be closed Saturday from 1 am to 7 am, Monday to Tuesday from 11 pm to 5:30 am next morning, and Thursday to Friday from 12:01 am to 5:30 am. These lane closures are necessary to facilitate replacement of upper roadway.
Single-lane Manhattan-bound lower roadway will be closed 24/7. Single-lane Manhattan-bound north upper roadway will be closed Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 10 am to 3 pm to facilitate bridge rehabilitation. Lower roadway will be reversed from 3 pm to 5 am next morning to service the Brooklyn-bound traffic during the north upper roadway closure.
ManhattanFranklin D. Roosevelt Drive Southbound at East 105 Street
Single-lane will be closed Monday to Friday from 11 pm to 5:30 am next morning, Saturday from 12:01 am to 6:30 am, and Sunday from 1 am to 11 am. Double-lane will be closed Tuesday to Friday from 1 am to 5 am, Saturday from 2 am to 6 am, and Sunday from 2 am to 7 am. These closures are necessary to facilitate replacing defective secondary cables and will continue through 12/30/2021.Frankfort Street between Pearl Street and Gold Street
This street will be reduced to only single-lane in each direction until further notice to facilitate rehabilitation of the Brooklyn Bridge's approach arches.Rehabilitation of Riverside Drive Viaduct between West 155 Street and West 161 Street
Both directions on the west side of the roadway will be closed Saturday from 9 am to 7 pm through 12/11/2021 to facilitate concrete installation in the middle section of the Riverside West. Northbound on the east side of the roadway will remain open and southbound will be detoured via Riverside Drive East.
Brooklyn/QueensMetropolitan Avenue Bridge over English Kills
Single-lane will be closed Saturday and Sunday from 7 am to 2 pm through 12/19/2021, except over Thanksgiving weekend, to facilitate bridge maintenance.Pulaski Bridge over Newtown Creek

BrooklynBrooklyn-Queens Expressway between Atlantic Avenue and Cadman Plaza
Single-lane westbound will be closed nightly from 12:01 am to 5 am through 12/10/2021 to facilitate maintenance.Sand Street southbound entrance ramp to eastbound Brooklyn-Queens Expressway
Ramp will be closed Monday and Tuesday from 10 pm to 5 am next morning to facilitate milling and paving.
Bronx/ManhattanBroadway Bridge over the Harlem River
Manhattan-bound sidewalk and single-lane in both direction will be closed Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3 pm and double-lane will be closed Manhattan-bound from 10 am to 2 pm to facilitate electrical work on the bridge.
BronxRehabilitation of East 169, East 175, and East 180 Streets Bridges
Single-lane and north sidewalk on the north side of East 175 Street bridge over Metro North will be closed and approximately ten parking spaces will be removed on Park Avenue through 12/10/2021 to facilitate bridge rehabilitation. Work hours will be from 7 am to 4 pm.Rehabilitation of the Westchester Avenue Bridge
Westbound Westchester Avenue, between Waters Place and Ericson Place/Middletown Road, will be closed Saturday and Sunday from 6 am to 6 pm to facilitate bridge rehabilitation. Motorists are advised to detour via Hutchinson River Parkway East and East Tremont Avenue.
QueensCross Island Parkway under Throgs Neck Bridge
Single-lane will be closed both direction and service road between Exit 32 and Exit 35 Monday to Friday from 10 am to 3 pm and 10 pm to 5 am next morning through 12/31/2021 to facilitate bridge inspection.Rehabilitation of I-678 Southbound to Cross Island Parkway Eastbound over Access Road I-678
Single-lane eastbound Cross Island Parkway, between Exit 16 and Exit 35, will be closed Monday to Thursday from 11 pm to 5 am next morning, Saturday from 12 am to 9 am and from 11 pm to 10 am next morning. Single-lane westbound Cross Island Parkway, between Exit 36S and the gore area of Whitestone Expressway, will be closed Monday to Thursday from 10 pm to 5 am next morning, Friday from 10 pm to 7 am next morning, and Saturday from 11 pm to 8 am next morning. These closures will continue through 1/14/2022.Van Wyck Expressway underneath Roosevelt Avenue Bridge
Single-lane in both direction will be closed Monday and Tuesday from 11 pm to 5 am next morning and Friday from 11:59 pm to 6 am next morning. Double-lane in both direction will be closed Monday to Thursday from 11:59 pm to 5 am and Saturday from 1 am to 6 am. One lane in both direction will be maintained at all times. These closures are necessary to facilitate Roosevelt Avenue Bridge rehabilitation and will continue through 12/5/2021.Van Wyck Expressway between Jamaica Avenue and John F. Kennedy Airport
Single-lane in both direction will be closed Monday to Friday from 11 pm to 5 am next morning, Saturday from 12:01 am to 6 am, and Sunday from 12:01 am to 10 am through 3/4/2022 to facilitate Air train Guideway structure inspection.
