Event Schedule for Saturday, August 21, the Final Weekend of Summer Streets 2010

The NYC Department of Transportation today announced that Summer Streets 2010 will conclude tomorrow, with dozens of activities planned along the 6.9-mile car free route from the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park from 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. Over one hundred thousand New Yorkers have enjoyed the first two Summer Streets, which has helped encourage more healthy physical activity and promoted walking and cycling in New York City.

A special guest this week will be 2010 U.S. Olympic Short Track Speed-Skating medalist Allison Baver, who will skate with the public and sign autographs starting at 9:45 a.m. at the Uptown Rest Stop location on Park Avenue between 50th and 51st Streets, and then continuing at 10:45 a.m. at the Midtown location at Park Avenue and 26th Street.
