Motorists are advised to use alternate routes

As part of the New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) project to rehabilitate the Brooklyn Bridge ramps and approaches, a full closure of the bridge’s Manhattan-bound lanes will be required this weekend, from 11:59 p.m. Fri., June 13 through 6 a.m. Mon., June 16. There also will be limited closures on the Brooklyn Queens Expressway and southbound FDR Drive On-Ramp.

On Sat., June 14, from 1-6 a.m., the eastbound BQE will be closed immediately following Exit 28A (Cadman Plaza West) to Exit 29A (Manhattan Bridge/Nassau St). The same closure will take place on Sun., June 15 from 2-7:00 a.m. and on Mon., June 16 from 12:01-4 a.m. This closure will, among other work, help facilitate the rehabilitation of the bridge’s Main Street bridge structure in Brooklyn. The ramp of Exit 28 (Cadman Plaza West/Brooklyn Br) will be closed to traffic traveling westbound on the BQE from 5 p.m. Sat., June 14 until 8 p.m. Sun., June 16.

From 10 p.m. Fri., June 13 to 10 a.m. Sat., June 14 the on-ramp to the southbound FDR Drive from Pearl Street will be closed. The same closure will be in effect on Sat., June 14 from 10 p.m. – 10:00 a.m. Sun., June 15.

Throughout the weekend, Brooklyn-bound traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge will be maintained. There will be no reversal or change to the normal Brooklyn-bound traffic patterns on the Brooklyn Bridge.

During the 54-hour full closure of the Brooklyn Bridge to all Manhattan-bound traffic, vehicles will be redirected to alternate crossings, including the Manhattan Bridge, Williamsburg Bridge and the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel, an MTA-tolled facility.
