NYC DOT Releases 2016 NYC Bike Map

New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) announces the release of the 2016 NYC Bike Map. The updated version of this annual free publication is now available digitally. Printed maps will be available in early April.

The 2016 NYC Bike Map includes nearly 70 lane miles of new or upgraded bike infrastructure to the City’s bike network. 2015 was a momentous year for New York City cyclists: in the fall the City celebrated the installation of its 1,000th mile in the bike network.

New additions to the 2016 NYC Bike Map include:

  • Over 12 miles of new on-street protected bike lanes
  • Over 7 miles of new off-street bike lanes, including over 3 miles on Springville Greenway located along the eastern edge of Staten Island’s Freshkills Park
  • 58 miles of on-street development (includes lane upgrades and new bike facilities)

This year the City is on track to build 15 more miles of protected bike lanes, the most ever in a calendar year.
