“It’s a great day for health care in America. I commend the Supreme Court for supporting the ACA again and applying the intent of the Act and not focusing on a misused word or phrase. This ruling allows millions of Americans to keep their insurance and moves us closer to the goal of expanding effective healthcare to everyone. Many public hospitals in the affected states would have been in deep financial trouble and some of them may have even closed without the federal exchange subsidies, so this not only helps individuals but it also is a robust statement in support of public health care.”
