CareConnect Continues Major Network Expansion; Strikes Partnership with New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation

Pairing with Nation’s Largest Public Health System Will Add Eleven Hospitals to Growing Network

(East Hills, NY) – CareConnect announced today that it has joined with the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC) to further expand its growing network of hospitals and physicians in New York City. Today’s announcement, which will add eleven hospitals to CareConnect’s network, marks the latest in a series of major network expansions: Over the past year CareConnect has grown its network in every market it serves, including New York City’s five boroughs, Long Island, and Westchester. The partnership with HHC will give CareConnect members access to a host of leading facilities and primary and specialty care physicians in Manhattan, Brooklyn, The Bronx, Staten Island and Queens.

“The New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation is an important addition to CareConnect’s network,” said CareConnect CEO, Alan Murray. “We’re excited about adding this set of institutions, which are pillars of the communities they serve and which will dramatically expand hospital and physician options for our members.”

With its partnership with HHC, CareConnect will deepen its ability to serve its members’ needs in a variety of ways through HHC’s expansive services. In addition to HHC’s eleven acute-care hospitals, CareConnect members will have access to:

  • • Award-winning specialty care centers
  • • Community health centers
  • • Skilled nursing facilities
  • • A full suite of services from neonatal to geriatric care

“This important collaboration between NYC Health and Hospitals and CareConnect offers more New Yorkers access to geographically convenient health care with the unique attributes of our quality, culturally responsive services,” said NYC Health and Hospitals President and CEO Dr. Ram Raju. "Strategic alliances like this one will allow us to reach more patients while we continue to build market share for our own commercial health insurance products for public employees and on the New York Health Exchange. We look forward to a successful partnership that can support our work to build healthy communities.”

CareConnect’s partnership with HHC further strengthens the company’s growing network offerings for members throughout downstate New York. This announcement follows on this summer’s expansions through its partnerships with White Plains Hospital, in Westchester County, and Nyack Hospital, in Rockland County; the May 2015 partnership with Peconic Bay Medical Center in Suffolk County; and the October 2014 partnerships with Maimonides Medical Center, in Brooklyn; Montefiore Health System, in Bronx and Westchester counties; Mount Kisco Medical Group, in Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties; Northern Westchester Hospital, in Mount Kisco; Phelps Memorial Hospital Center, in Sleepy Hollow; and Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, in Brooklyn. With the addition of HHC to CareConnect’s network, members will have access to 44 hospitals across downstate New York.
