Greetings! we are happy to introduce Lincoln Medical Center’s first Senior Cookbook, Savory Bites and Sweet Sensations: Bronx Home Cooking. Filled with 44 delicious recipes originating from Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Nigeria, Peru, Puerto Rico and the United States of America, this cookbook represents the rich diversity of the South Bronx and reminds us of the culinary traditions of our community.

About the Senior Cookbook
Working with our patients with diet restrictions, it became clear that giving up certain familiar foods presented a challenge. We believe the cook book offers a guide for modifying eating habits using familiar recipes that have reduced fat, sodium, and sugar content.
Chef Annie Morgan and chef Diane Barrett, MS, RD modified the recipes to reduce fat, sodium and sugar content, and to adjust spices to add flavor.
The participating Senior Centers were RAIN One Stop, Bronxworks NORC River Park Towers, Melrose Mott Haven Senior Center, Erma Cavas Housing, and Cordova Houses.
