2005 Sister City Program of the City of New York, Inc.
Annual Board Meeting, Gracie Mansion, 8:30-10:00am
The Sister City Program of the City of New York had its annual Board Meeting on June 8, 2005 at the formal dining room of Gracie Mansion. All executive officers of the Sister City Program were present, including the President, Nancy E. Soderberg, vice-President, Kate D. Levin, Corporation Secretary, Veronica Kelly, Treasurer, Marjorie B. Tiven, Honorary Chair William R. Rhodes, and Executive Director, Maley Ong. In addition, the following Sister City Chairpersons were present: Beijing – Geraldine Kunstadter, Cairo- Frank G. Wisner, Jerusalem – Lynn Korda Kroll, Johannesburg - David N. Dinkins, and Rome - Adele Chatfield-Taylor. Observers included representatives from the Office of the Mayor and the New York City Law Department.

Ambassador Nancy E. Soderberg summarized the achievements of the Program under the Bloomberg Administration and thanked all the Chairs for their support. Discussions focused on topics for possible future summits, and continued fundraising for the Program.

End-of-year projects from student participants in the Internet-based Educational Exchange Program were displayed. The Internet-based Educational Exchange Program connects students in New York City with students in 5 Sister Cities, utilizing a structured curriculum on a secure, password protected forum. These projects included slideshow presentations of virtual trips to Sister Cities, travel itineraries, a neighborhood video, and travel brochures that the children created for their partner Sister City school.

Commissioner Tiven gave a tribute to Ambassador Soderberg in recognition of her leadership as President of the Sister City Program of the City of New York, Inc.

Annual Board Meeting, City Hall Governor's Room, 4:00-6:00pm
The Sister City Program of the City of New York, Inc. had its annual Board Meeting on October 26, 2004 in the Governor's Room at City Hall. Present were all executive officers of the Sister City Program, which include the Honorable Nancy E. Soderberg, Commissioner Kate D. Levin, the Honorable Marjorie B. Tiven, Ms. Veronica Kelly, Honorary Chairman Mr. William R. Rhodes, and Ms. Maley Ong, Executive Director. Six chairs were also present. They were: the Honorable Frank G. Wisner (Cairo), Lynn Korda Kroll (Jerusalem), Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild (London), Mr. Gonzalo de Las Heras (Madrid), Ms. Adele-Chatfield Taylor (Rome) and Mr. Luis Canela (Santo Domingo).

At the conclusion of the Board meeting, Commissioner Gino Menchini of the New York City Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications summarized the achievements of technology in government under Mayor Bloomberg's administration and discussed the achievements of the Sister City Program’s June Technology Summit. An update was also given by NYC2012 Executive Director Jay Kriegel to highlight New York City’s bid for the 2012 Olympics.

The Sister City Program of the City of New York had its annual Board Meeting on October 28, 2003 at the formal dining room of Gracie Mansion. Present were all executive officers of the Sister City Program, which include the Honorable Marjorie B. Tiven , Ms. Maley Ong, Executive Director, the Honorable Nancy E. Soderberg, Commissioner Kate D. Levin, Ms. Veronica Kelly, and Honorary Chairman, Mr. William R. Rhodes. Seven chairs out of the ten Sister Cities were also present. They were: Vera Blinken (Budapest), the Honorable Frank G. Wisner (Cairo), Lynn Korda Kroll (Jerusalem), Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild (London), Mr. Gonzalo de Las Heras (Madrid), Ms. Lidia Bastianich (Rome) and Mr. Winthrop H. Smith, Jr.(Tokyo).

At the conclusion of the Board meeting, a special presentation was given by NYC2012 Executive Director Jay Kriegel to highlight New York’s bid for the 2012 Olympics. Also present were Cristyne Nicholas, President of NYC & Co, Tim Honey, Executive Director of Sister Cities International, and Nancy Huppert, Sister Cities International global envoy.
