MAYOR GIULIANI ISSUED THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT REGARDING THE COUNCIL OF SUPERVISORS AND ADMINISTRATORS VOTE RATIFYING THE LABOR ACCORD ENDING PRINCIPAL TENURE
"Today's vote by the Council of Supervisors and Administrators is an important step in the effort to bring critical changes and restructuring to our City's education system. Only by creating a system that puts children first, rather than job protection, can we bring accountability to the New York City school system. I want to thank the Office of Labor Relations Commissioner James Hanley and former Deputy Mayor Randy Levine for their efforts in bringing about this labor accord."
