MAYOR GIULIANI APPOINTS BRUCE J. TEITELBAUM AS ACTING CHIEF OF STAFF

Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani today announced the appointment of Bruce J. Teitelbaum as the Mayor's Acting Chief of Staff. Mr. Teitelbaum, 33, will assume the duties of the current Chief of Staff Randy M. Mastro, who has been appointed Deputy Mayor for Operations.

"Bruce Teitelbaum has been an incredible asset both to me and to this administration in his role as Deputy Chief of Staff," said Mayor Giuliani. "Over the several years that I have known Bruce, he has always been hard-working, tireless and completely capable. I know he will prove just as invaluable in his responsibilities as Acting Chief of Staff."

As Acting Chief of Staff, Mr. Teitelbaum will supervise many vital departments in the Mayor's Office, including scheduling, correspondence, special events, advance, citywide services and fiscal and administrative functions. His appointment is effective September 3.

Raised in Brooklyn, Mr. Teitelbaum now resides on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. He is a graduate of State University of New York at Binghamton and of Brooklyn Law School. He is engaged to Suri Kasirer of Manhattan.
