Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani released the following statement today in response to the recent proposals and action taken against Swiss banking institutions:
"Senator Al D'Amato has focused everyone's attention on the imperative for compensation of Holocaust victims and their families. We are working with him and others to achieve this long overdue justice. The Speaker's proposal offers support for this effort and we look forward to working with him as well to make a positive and constructive contribution to obtaining the necessary compensation."
