MAYOR GIULIANI CELEBRATES EASTER WITH 'EGGSCITING' EVENTS IN CENTRAL PARK

Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani, joined by Parks Commissioner Henry kicked off the start of spring and celebrated Easter at the 51st annual Easter Eggstravaganza festivities in Central Park today.

"There is no better way to celebrate the Easter holiday than in Central Park," said Mayor Giuliani. "The Easter season also signifies the beginning of spring, a beautiful season throughout New York City."

Children's activities at the Eggstravaganza included egg rolling contests. Paas egg dyeing, arts & crafts, face painting and storytelling. Entertainment was provided by the casts of Smokey Joe's Cafe, Bring in 'Da Noise, Bring in 'Da Funk, Cats, Beauty and the Beast, When Pigs Fly, and Dream as well as the Radio City Rockettes and Ballet-Tech Kids Dance.

The events in the park were sponsored by Breakstone's, WKTU-FM, Rollerblade and the Radio City Spring Spectacular.
