ON FRANK MC COURT WINNING THE PULITZER PRIZE
"On behalf of all New Yorkers, I want to congratulate Frank McCourt on winning the Pulitzer Prize. His memoir, "Angela's Ashes" , is a book of remarkable power and grace about a family struggling to survive. I also want to thank him for being a member of the Immigration Coalition and getting out the message that immigration is what has made America great . Frank comes out of that immigrant's tradition and his achievement today should be celebrated by all of us."
