STATEMENT BY DEPUTY MAYOR RUDY WASHINGTON ON COURT DECISION REGARDING STREET VENDORS
"Today 's Court of Appeals ruling is a complete victory for the City that confirms the Street Vendors Review Panel's right to regulate the vending industry. While the City realizes the importance of vendors to our economy, it is vital that restrictions be placed in areas where vending would diminish the quality of life or threaten public safety. The courts have consistently upheld our efforts to regulate the industry and make it more competitive. The City intends to go forward with its Street Vendor Review Panel regulatory scheme."
