MAYOR GIULIANI ANNOUNCES $10,000 REWARD FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO THE APPREHENSION AND CONVICTION OF THE KILLER OR KILLERS OF AMY WATKINS

Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani today announced the City is offering a $10,000 reward for anyone who provides information leading to the apprehension and conviction of the killer or killers of Amy Watkins. While walking home to her Brooklyn apartment on Monday night, March 8th, Ms. Watkins was stabbed in the back by an unknown assailant or assailants at 9:45 P.M and later pronounced dead at Interfaith Medical Center. The attack occurred in the vicinity of 326 Park Place in the Prospect Heights Section of Kings County.

Mayor Giuliani said, "This heinous crime is made all the more tragic because Amy Watkins came to New York City from her Kansas hometown to help others. She dedicated her work in New York City to rescuing battered women from violence. Tragically, her promising life was cut short by a vicious predator. But her gentle spirit and devotion to others has touched all New Yorkers. I urge anyone with information about the murder of Amy Watkins to call Crime Stoppers at 212-577-TIPS."
