MAYOR GIULIANI AND MAYOR ODOM OF ARLINGTON, TEXAS WAGER ON YANKEES -RANGERS PLAYOFF SERIES

Sporting Cowboy Boots and 10-Gallon Hat He Won From Texas In Previous Wagers, Mayor Giuliani Looks Forward To Winning Once Again

Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani and Mayor Elzie Odom, of Arlington, Texas, set wagering terms on the outcome of the American League Divisional Playoff Series between the New York Yankees and the Texas Rangers, which begins tonight at Yankee Stadium.

If the Yankees win, Mayor Odom owes Mayor Giuliani xxxxxxxx, and agrees to wear a Yankees baseball cap in public. Should the Rangers win, Mayor Giuliani will send Mayor Odom a dozen cannolies from DaNico's in Little Italy, two dozen bagels from H&H Bagels, and agrees to wear a Rangers baseball cap in public.

"The Yankees are on a roll and I'm confident they'll win this playoff series against the Texas Rangers," said Mayor Giuliani. "After two previous wagers with the Mayors of Arlington I've amassed quite an outfit - a pair of cowboy boots and a 10-gallon hat. I'm looking forward to watching the Yankees win the playoffs and battle it out with the New York Mets in a Subway Series.

"I was happy Mayor Odom had the courage to wager this year, despite losing last year to the Yankees, who went on to win the World Series. I'm looking forward to the Yankees playing the Mets, who made it to the playoffs for the first time in 11 years last night, in the World Series and celebrating New York City's first subway series since19XX."
