Citi Bike is New York City's bike sharing system. Bikes are available at hundreds of bicycle stations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
To participate you must:
You should wear a helmet while riding.
In the event of general weather conditions that may make cycling hazardous, Citi Bike will temporarily shut down. The system will reopen as soon as the weather permits.
Dockless Bike Share
The Dockless Bike Share Pilot Program allows dockless bike companies to offer bikes in four neighborhoods in the outer boroughs.
Bikes will arrive on a rolling basis to streets in pilot program neighborhoods. This summer, the program will bring dockless bike sharing to the Rockaways in Queens, Staten Island, and the Central Bronx-Fordham area. Later this year, Coney Island in Brooklyn will also host a pilot program. Eventually, each neighborhood will host a minimum of 200 bikes. The bike sharing companies participating in the pilot are JUMP, Lime, Pace, and Motivate. In addition to regular pedal bikes, some companies also offer pedal-assist bikes.
