Medicare offers healthcare assistance for seniors age 65 and over and people with disabilities. You can get information and assistance with Medicare, including enrollment, coverage, billing, ordering a replacement Medicare card, and various Medicare Savings Programs.

Through the Medicare Part D program, Medicare offers prescription drug insurance to Medicare participants. Medicare Part D Enrollment sites help seniors age 65 and older and disabled people with Medicare with:

  • Prescription drug questions
  • Signing up for a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan
  • Problems with a selected drug plan
  • Assistance for those who have just become eligible for Medicare or who will become eligible for Medicare soon

You can attend a monthly orientation class if you're new to Medicare or will soon be eligible. The free class is held in Manhattan. Registration is required. You can get the current schedule, class location, and reserve a place online or by calling (212) 602-4180.

You can report unusual Medicare claims and possible Medicare fraud to the state-wide Senior Medicare Patrol - Medicare Fraud Hotline at (877) 678-4697.
