Acupuncture Professional License

Education, Department of State
An Acupuncture Professional License is required for an individual or business that, through the insertion of needles or by the application of heat, applies pressure or electrical stimulation on the surface of the body to achieve a therapeutic or medicinal effect.

A Limited Permit allows an individual to practice acupuncture under the supervision of a licensed acupuncture professional. No licensed professional may supervise more than one permittee.

Acupuncturists must meet both educational and experiential requirements in order to be licensed.
