Drug Enforcement Administration
Businesses must receive training and certification to sell scheduled listed chemical products (SLCPs). The Drug Enforcement Administration requires this to combat methamphetamine production.
SLCPs include ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, and phenylpropanolamine. These chemicals are found in many cough, cold, and allergy medications. Businesses selling cough, cold, and allergy medications containing SLCPs may include:
- Retail vendors, like convenience or grocery stores
- Mobile retail vendors, like mobile health clinics, or,
- Mail-order vendors
