Companies with 200 or more commercial vehicles can take part in the Permanent Fleet Registration Program. This program is managed by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

A minimum of 200 vehicles must participate in the program. However, the company does not have to register all vehicles.

Taxis, liveries and other "for hire" vehicles are not eligible for this program.
