Before you submit your application

    Applicants are subject to a background check that includes fingerprints.

      A Fire Department permit is required if more than 200 rounds of ammunition will be stored on the premises.

      • 3
        The application fee is $75.00. The fingerprint fee for new applicants is $94.25 per individual being fingerprinted.

          Steps to apply in person:

          Complete the Application for Small Arms Range, available at the police precinct where the business will be located. Please contact the NYPD using the contact information below to locate the nearest precinct to the firing range location.

            After submitting all application materials all owners and partners must be fingerprinted at the same precinct where the application was submitted.

            • 3
              The NYPD will notify the applicant of acceptance or rejection by mail.

              • 4
                If the application is approved, the applicant will receive a license by mail
