The NYC Requirements Questionnaire (Wizard) helps determine whether you need to apply for particular permits, licenses, certificates, or registrations to operate a business in New York City. You can save the results from the Requirements Questionnaire (Wizard) by creating an account on NYC Business Express.

Please be aware that the Requirements Questionnaire (Wizard) may not provide complete information. To verify your results, we recommend that you schedule a free, in-person consultation with a NYC Business Solutions Account Manager who can review the results and refer you to qualified resources for incentives, financing and/or legal advice.

You can apply online for licenses, permits, or certifications using the Find a Business Regulation tool and index. Search for the form that you need by name, click on the heading to expand the card, and select the button to apply or renew. Please be sure to print and save a copy of the application for your personal records.

The Incentives Estimator is an online questionnaire that shows you whether your business qualifies for money-saving city, state, and federal incentives. You can also refer to the NYC Business Solutions Center's Summary of Services for Incentives to find out whether there are other incentives programs that may be right for your business.
