Student Voter Registration Drive

Youth Vote NYC / Student Voter Registration Drive (SVRD) 2019 is an initiative of DemocracyNYC and the NYC Mayor's Office in collaboration with the NYC Department of Education, the City University of New York, and the Department of Youth and Community Development.

Research shows that registering young people to vote as soon as they are eligible increases voter participation for years to come—and that's why we're making it our priority to register every eligible young person in New York City to vote.

In 2018, we registered 10,000 public high school students to vote citywide.

In 2019, we're expanding our reach to all NYC high schools, colleges, and beyond.

If you are enrolled at a NYC DOE high school, talk to your principal about your school's participation.
