“Close to Home” Teens Learn About Technology and Social Media

Forty young women in the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) “Close to Home” program learned how social media can be used as a tool to elevate their business and brand. The teens participated in the “Technology/Social Media & Entrepreneurship” workshop on Monday, January 25th. During the workshop, the young ladies expressed interest in careers in the medical, legal and fashion fields, among others. Industry leaders Kéla Walker, Tanya Rapley, Sabrina Biossoere, Kimberly Goldson and Ty Alexander, spoke to the young girls about how they were able to use technology as a platform to promote their business. This is the fourth workshop of the self-empowerment series, organized by The Division of Youth and Family Justice. See pictures from the workshop below.
