Board Hires Former DHS Commissioner Michele Ovesey as General Counsel

The Board of Correction welcomes Michele Ovesey as its General Counsel. Michele was most recently the Commissioner and General Counsel of the NYC Department of Homeless Services. She spent close to 10 years at that agency and before that spent more than a decade at Proskauer Rose LLP in litigation.  Prior to that she was a litigator at the City's Law Department. Michele started with the Board in November 2015.

Board Names Martha King as Executive Director

The Board of Correction recently voted unanimously to name Martha King as its Executive Director. A seasoned policy strategist, King brings 15 years of experience in both the public and non-profit sectors to the Board of Correction.
