Emmanuel Martinez, has lived in the Bronx for over 25 years, residing in the Norwood Section of the Bronx. After graduating from John F Kennedy High School, he was accepted to the State University of New York in Cortland New York, being the first in his family to attend a university. While at SUNY Cortland, he joined Pi Kappa Phi, a national fraternity which focused on community engagement, civic duty, and more important building our youth to become future leaders.
Having graduated from SUNY Cortland with a degree in Business Economics, and a concentration in political Science, Emmanuel hit the ground running. Having learned the essence of entrepreneurship, he utilized the tools that helped him succeed in college like; focus, hard work, relationship building, and leveraging the acquired knowledge to join one of the largest financial institutions in the United States. Furthermore, by leveraging those same traits he was able to build a successful businesses along the way.
One of his proud achievements was in the world of Chess. As an avid chess player, he reached the top 20 Chess players under the age 17 in New York State, as well as number 89th in the United States. Chess taught him the value of strategically planning for the future, and learn how to juggle multiple moving parts with the aim of achieving a specific goal. Emmanuel took his talents from the competitive arena, to the classroom by joining a non-profit organization, Chess in The Schools, and teaching our youth how to play this amazing board game.
Finally, the key areas of focus for Emmanuel are in improving the quality of health, promoting the value of fitness, and above all educating our local community on the resources available to them. In closing, the Bronx has been a place that taught Emmanuel the importance of hard work, the strength your local community has when property educated, and above all the power of perseverance.
