Parks/Recreation/Environmental Protection

The Parks/Recreation/Environmental Protection Committee generally reviews environmental issues that affect the quality of life in our district including, but not limited to, such items as solid waste management and sanitation services, environmental quality and control issues as well as clean-up and remediation efforts. The committtee also routinely reviews any and all projects, programs and services affecting the numerous neighborhood parks and parkland within the district and will consider matters affecting borough amenities including, but not limited to, Prospect Park, Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn Botanic Gardens and Prospect Park Wildlife Center. The committee also concerns itself with recreational and cultural programs and services offered in the district.
