Prior BSA Actions and Case Files

If you need to determine if a property is subject to a prior BSA action, contact the Board Office at 212-386-0009.  You must provide the property borough, block, lot, and address.

Once determined that a property has been subject to a BSA action and you wish to request the entire case file from archives, follow the instructions below.

Case files for applications decided by the Board are stored off-site and can be requested through in one of two ways:

  1. Complete the "Archives Request Form".  Provide the required information, and e-mail to: records@bsa.nyc.gov; or
  2. Submit the "Archives Request Form" in person at the Board office, 250 Broadway, 29th Floor, during office hours (9am and 5pm).

To visit the Board Office you must schedule an appointment.  To schedule an appointment contact the Board Office at 212-386-0009.

The "Archives Request Form" is only to order a case file,not to do a property search. If you do not know the calendar number, please contact othe Board Office at 212 386-0009.

Note: A $50.00 fee is required to request each off-site case file, via check or money order payable to: The New York City Board of Standards and Appeals.
