An Environmental Control Board (OATH) violation is issued by the Department of Buildings when a property does not comply with a part of the New York City Construction Codes and or Zoning Resolution. These violations, referred to as OATH Violations, are returnable to the OATH . While all violations contain an order to correct the conditions cited, OATH violations carry an additional order to CERTIFY CORRECTION. Respondents may challenge their violation at a hearing before the OATH and may face penalties, if found in violation.
