Enforcement

Citywide Event Coordination and Management (CECM) aims to permit street activities that protect the interests of the City, the community and general public. With the public interest in mind, CECM has the authority to temporarily suspend or revoke any street activity permit.

If a permitted event is found failing to comply with applicable laws or inadequately complying with conditions imposed on the issued permit, we have to right to revoke the permit or add conditions to the approval of any future street activity application. You may review the full list of rules by visiting the SAPO rules page.

Our office regularly performs audits of events that have one or more of the following characteristics:

  • Events with multiple permits from our Supporting Permitting Agencies
  • Events that have been previously noted as non-compliant with City Agency rules
  • Events that are held in locations with a high concentration of foot and vehicular traffic as well as high concentration of events
  • Events that have been previously denied by the Street Activity Permit Office

If you believe an event in your area is violating a City Agency rule or does not have the appropriate permit, please contact us.
