Pedestrian plazas transform underutilized areas into safe, community-oriented public spaces. The Department of Transportation work with nonprofit organizations to design, manage and maintain the plaza areas.
Pedestrian plazas are permitted for special events through the Street Activity Permit Office. You may learn more about applying for these permits through our Plaza Event page.
