NYC Census 2020 on Supreme Court Decision in National Urban League, et. al. v Department of Commerce, et. al.

OCTOBER 13 - In response to the Supreme Court of the United States' decision to cut short the 2020 Census count timeline, Julie Menin, Director of NYC Census 2020 and Executive Assistant Corporation Counsel, NYC Law Department issued the following statement:

"This is a dark day in American history. The census, a democratic American exercise that has taken place since 1790, has been stolen by the Trump administration. The Trump administration has interfered at every step of the 2020 Census, and now they have cut the census count short during a global pandemic in which New York City was the epicenter. Despite every obstacle presented to us, our campaign closed the self-response gap between NYC and the nation from 14 points to 5 points, in comparison to 2010. Our fight for an equitable 2020 Census count will not stop here."
