Ishrat Jahan

Ishrat Jahan is a student at New York University pursuing a degree in Social Cultural Analysis and Politics. She has enjoyed a cross-sector working experience, being an intern at the government level with the Deputy Mayor for Strategic Initiatives at the NYC Mayor's Office, in consulting with Delivery Associates where she assisted with providing services to NYC government on implementing evidence-based strategies for gun violence prevention/intervention, and in nonprofit with the Brooklyn Community Services where she advanced outreach efforts to an underserved Brooklyn community. On campus, Ishrat is active in several organizations including BIPOC Legal Society, NYU Asian Heritage Month, and NYU SGA Student Success & Services. Originally from Brooklyn, NY, she hopes to have a career at the intersection of law, business, and the social/public sector, using the skills and tools she gains to empower communities across NYC and beyond.
