In 2020, the US Treasury began issuing payment to States and other eligible units of local government through the $150B Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF). Funding provided under CRF must be used to cover expenses that 1) are necessary expenditures due to COVID-19; 2) were not accounted for or budgeted as of March 2020; and 3) were obligated during the period of March 1, 2020 – December 31, 2021.

New York City received an allocation of $1.45B from the CRF on April 20, 2020, and OMB released a budget allocation for these funds during the FY21 Executive Budget. Below is the current allocation for FY20, FY21 and FY22.
