Event Calendar

DCA participates in many community events to address consumer and worker issues and attends industry events to help businesses understand City laws, including licensing and workplace regulations. Unless otherwise noted, posted events are open to the public and a DCA representative will be available to answer your questions and distribute materials on our key issues such as the Paid Safe and Sick Leave Law, financial empowerment programs, business inspection checklists, and consumer tips.

2019 Disability Pride Parade and Union Square Park Festival
This year the NYC Disability Pride Parade lines up at Madison Square Park and marches down Broadway ending in Union Square Park.

Amendment of License Enforcement Rules
DCA is proposing rules to amend Chapter 1 of Title 6 of the Rules of the City of New York to improve the Department’s ability to carry out its mission designated in the New York City Charter. The proposed rule changes include a mix of deregulation, additional and stricter enforcement, and clarifications.

Amendment of Sidewalk Cafe Rules
To help support public understanding of DCA’s licensing and regulation of sidewalk cafés and compliance by businesses, DCA is proposing updates to the “Sidewalk Cafés” rules, which can be found in Subchapter F of Chapter 2 of Title 6 of the Rules of the City of New York.
