Fair Workweek Law Overview

On November 26, 2017, NYC’s Fair Workweek Law took effect. The new law ends unfair and inconsistent scheduling practices in the fast food and retail industry.

On July 4, 2021, new amendments to the Fair Workweek Law took effect, expanding protections for fast food workers.

On January 14, 2022, new amendments to the Fair Workweek Law took effect, providing new rights for utility safety workers.
