Demand Response and Load Management

Three real time meters measuring electricity use in a boiler room of a public building.

The City encourages city agencies to save energy and reduce emissions by changing the way that they operate their buildings. The Demand Response Program and the Load Management Program rely on up-to-the-moment analysis of energy usage data, and DCAS has been installing real-time metering across the City's portfolio to support both.

The Real-Time Metering Program provides centralized data collection and aggregation to enable energy usage to be viewed in near-real time and enable City staff to make immediate operational changes.
