Demand Response and Load Management

Three real time meters measuring electricity use in a boiler room of a public building.

DEM encourages City agencies to save energy and reduce emissions by changing the way that they operate their buildings through the Demand Response and Load Management Programs. To support these two programs, which rely on up-to-the-moment analysis of energy usage data, DEM has been working to install real-time metering across the City’s portfolio. The Real-Time Metering Program provides centralized data collection and aggregation to enable energy usage to be viewed in near-real time and enable City staff to make immediate operational changes.
