Muhammad Kabir

Muhammad Kabair

During his senior year at NYU in 2006, Muhammad Kabir had the opportunity to work as a Public Service Corps intern for the Human Resources Administration (HRA), Office of Staff Resources. As Kabir recalled, "It was a very pleasant experience… for the first time I had the opportunity to work in a professional environment…I learned how to work cooperatively with co-workers, exchange information to prepare reports...do professional and work-related research." Following his PSC internship, Kabir landed a summer internship at the HRA Family Independence Unit where he was subsequently hired as a full time City employee. He continues to work in that capacity while simultaneously pursuing his Ph.D. in International Relations. In his words, "I am thankful to the Public Service Corps for providing me the opportunity to work at a City agency."

Juliette Lynch

Juliette Lynch, a graduate from Borough of Manhattan Community College, had the opportunity to work as an intern in New York City government through the Public Service Corps. Once she got a foot in the door, Juliette was offered a full-time position at the Department of Citywide Administrative Services.

 

 

 

 

 

Michael Davis

Michael Davis

When not attending classes at New York University, Michael Davis spent up to 20 hours per week "interning" at New York City's Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD). It is here that Davis, as a Public Service Corps intern, had the unique opportunity of putting his classroom learning into practice and further developing important workplace skills.

Gregory Duncan

Gregory Duncan's Public Service Corps internship at the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor helped him focus on a career goal within the field of law and enhanced his academic studies at the NYC College of Technology (CUNY).
