Civil Service

To ensure the hiring process is competitive and fair, over 80% of civil service positions with the City of New York require an exam to qualify. Exams test merit for a particular title. DDC indicates the relevant civil service exam on job postings. Some specialized positions do not require an exam. Internship Opportunities

DDC’s Summer Internship Program for college and graduate school students offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the architecture, engineering, design, safety, and construction management professions within a public service context. Students will gain hands-on technical experience through specific field assignments and a mentoring relationship with senior-level technical staff. Download the application here.
