DDC participates in Bronx “City Hall in your Borough” Resource Fair.

On Tuesday, May 23th, DDC Commissioner Peña-Mora and top DDC officials participated in “City Hall in Your Borough,” an initiative hosted by Mayor de Blasio and Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr.  Mayor de Blasio, Borough President Diaz, City Commissioners and other staff arrived at Borough Hall to participate in satellite constituent office hours and a city agency resources fair.  Mayor de Blasio stated “Moving City Hall’s day-to-day operations to Bronx Borough Hall will allow for an intensive focus on the people and the priorities of The Bronx.”

DDC Commissioner Peña- Mora, Deputy Commissioners Eric McFarland and Thomas Foley spoke to residents and answered questions regarding DDC projects within their communities. Deputy Commissioner Lee Llambelis spoke about the many opportunities for young middle school, high school and college students to explore careers in the Architectural, Engineering and Construction fields.  The STEAM Team distributed information on DDC’s STEAM Educational Initiatives, including the Middle School Young Engineer’s Program, and the High School and College Summer Internship program. DDC’s High School Summer internship program operates in partnership with the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP).

“Like all New Yorkers, Bronxites demand exceptional service and prompt responses from their government. Bringing City Hall directly to The Bronx will provide my constituents with an opportunity to get direct answers from various agencies, learn more about the future of the city and interact with the highest levels of municipal government,” said Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
