District 6 Summer Parent Academy 2017 Community Resources Fair at PS/IS 366 Washington Heights Academy

On July 12th, the New York City Department of Education (DOE) District 6 Superintendent’s Office hosted at PS/IS 366 Washington Heights Academy in Manhattan third annual District 6 Summer Parent Academy 2017 (D6 SPA 2017). The D6 SPA 2017 goal is to educate District 6 families on the tools, resources, and leadership positions available to support their children’s well-being and academic success.  D6 SPA offers families information on the many different resources and services available in the community, as well as workshops on relevant parent related topics.  The D6 SPA 2017 kicked off its first day with a Community Resources Fair.

The New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC) STEAM Initiatives participated in District 6 Community Resources Fair.  Parents, DOE Parent Coordinators as well as Community Organizations were able to receive information on NYC DDC’S Middle School, High School and College Programs. Parents from throughout the district were pleased to learn about pipeline opportunities in a broad spectrum of DDC departments such as Public buildings and Infrastructure.
