NYC DDC Participates in the 61th Annual National Puerto Rican Day Parade

June 10, 2018

On Sunday June 10th, DDC Deputy Commissioner Lee Llambelis and DDC staffers participated in the 61st annual National Puerto Rican Day Parade.  One of the nation’s largest celebrations of Puerto Rican culture, the parade included nearly two million spectators and participants.

DDC Staffers marched up Fifth Avenue along with New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and fellow NYC employees.  The theme of this year’s parade was “One People, Many Voices.” The parade honored Puerto Ricans whose work enriches the culture while paying tribute to those who are working to rebuild and strengthen the island after Hurricane Maria.
