How to Pay

You can make payments online, by phone or mail, or in person. Please note that if you wish to pay your bill using a credit or debit card, you will be charged a convenience fee of 2.25%. We currently accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

To pay your water and sewer bill, you will need your water and sewer bill account number, located in the upper-left corner of your water bill. View an example water bill.

Pay Your Bill Online

Sign up for a My DEP Account

To sign up for online billing, Register for a My DEP Account. My DEP Account is an online customer service portal that allows you to:

  • pay your bill online
  • receive your bills electronically
  • review your billing history for the last 12 periods
  • view and print your current bill or retrieve and print past bills
  • track your water usage and sign up for online leak notification
  • track the status of any billing disputes

Online Quick Pay

You can also use our QuickPay system to make a one-time payment online without having to register for or login to a My DEP Account. Payments may take up to three business days to credit your account.

Pay Your Bill with Your Smartphone

You can download the My DEP mobile app on your Android or iOS smartphone to pay your bill on-the-go.

Customers can pay their water bill over the phone by calling (866) 622-8292. This automated payment service allows customers to pay their bill quickly and efficiently by using a checking account, credit card, or debit card*. Customers can pay their bill over the phone at no cost by using their checking or savings account. Please note that if you wish to pay your bill using a credit or debit card, you will be charged a convenience fee of 2.25%.

DEP currently accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

Pay Your Bill in Person

Pay in person with check, money order, or credit card at one of our borough offices or with cash at the New York City Department of Finance Business Centers or at a retail cash location.

Retail Cash Locations

Visit our KUBRA EZ-PAY portal to create an EZ-Payslip to bring to a participating retail location. KUBRA EZ-PAY supports a cash payment network of over 60,000 retail locations. Participating retailers include*:

  • 7-Eleven
  • CVS Pharmacy
  • Dollar General
  • Family Dollar
  • Speedway
  • ACE Cash Express

*Please Note: The list of participating retailers can change. Service may not be available at all retailer locations. An accurate list based on your location will be provided when creating the EZ-Payslip. The convenience fee for using this service is $3.95.

Pay Your Bill by Mail

Use the return envelope sent along with your bill. Checks or money orders should be made payable to NYC Water Board. Simply enclose the bill stub with your check or money order, put a stamp on the envelope and mail to:
